What is your Return Policy?
Certified Previously Owned Watches
100% satisfaction is our guarantee. Upon delivery we offer a full Three-Day Inspection/Return Privilege on all of our “Certified Previously Owned” watches. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will refund your payment (less shipping charges) upon receipt of the watch back in our office. If for some reason you decide to return the watch, the watch must be shipped back to us by the end of the 3rd business day. The returned watch must be unworn and must be returned in the same condition it was received. This has been our customer 100% satisfaction guarantee since 1976.
Never Worn/New Watches
A watch can only be sold as “Never Worn/New” one time! When our customers order a “Never Worn/New” watch they expect exactly that, a watch that has not been previously worn or used by someone else. Many retailers and online stores have very liberal return policies on “Never Worn/New” watches. Chances are, if you order a luxury watch from one of these stores you may receive a watch that you thought was “Never Worn/New” but may have been worn by someone else and then returned -- perhaps even dropped or damaged. To ensure that our customers receive a true “Never Worn/New” watch, we do not accept returns on “Never Worn/New” watches.
Do you offer any Warranties?

If you have a question or problem with a watch you have just received, please contact us promptly upon receiving your package. Our goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with your watch.
We realize that most of our customers live outside the Dallas area and would prefer future service work to be done by a watchmaker in their area for greater convenience. This eliminates extra shipping expenses by our customers when only minor adjustments and repairs might be necessary in the future. Many times round trip shipping and insurance fees can exceed minor adjustments and repair costs that could be done locally.

How do you determine the size of your wrist watches?
Millimeters (mm) are always used for accurate measurement of our wrist watches. The case size is always noted in our descriptions.
For measurement of round style cases: We measure the outside case diameter of the case, not including the winding/setting crown. Example: (36mm dia.).
For measurement of square, rectangular or cushion style watches: The first measurement is taken across , outside edge to outside edge, not including the winding/setting crown. The second measurement is taken vertically from the tip end of the case lug to the opposite end. Example: (30x42mm).
How do you determine the size of your pocket watches?
Throughout the course of watchmaking history, many countries developed their own size measurement systems. In our pocket watch descriptions, we use the American movement measurement system, and we also include an outside diameter measurement of the case in millimeters.
What is a horologist?
Horology is the scientific study of time. Specifically, horology involves the measurement of time and the making of clocks.
You need a small leap of imagination to see hour in horology, but if you do, you've pretty much nailed the meaning: it refers to the study of time and the art of making timepieces.
In horology, time is studied scientifically, just as a geologist studies the earth and a biologist studies life.
Horology is very practical, since it involves the design and construction of clocks, watches, and other devices for measuring time. Someone who studies horology is a horologist.
Is Bob Wingate (aka The Real Bob’s Watches) a watch scientist (aka horologist)?
Yes! Bob Wingate is a certified horologist and continues his education daily. He stays up to date on industry news regularly. Read more about our founder here
