Roger Dubuis was born in Geneva and was literally surrounded by many of the world's leading watch experts. He made his debut as an independent watchmaker in 1980, and his familiarity with timepieces and his business sense eventually led him to establish his own manufacturing facility with Carolos Dias in 1995. Within the first year of production, Roger Dubuis created and presented the renowned Hommage and Sympathie collections.
The Roger Dubuis Legacy
Since achieving complete independence in 2003, Roger Dubuis conceives, develops and produces its own simple, complicated and even its extremely complicated movements. The manufacturer additionally produces the regulating organs with which each timepiece is equipped. The balance springs, balances, and additional movement parts are produced with the greatest care in-house. Although young in comparison to many other prestigious brands, the quality of each Roger Dubuis timepiece is incomparable. Every watch is a handmade, exclusive edition, with limits as low as 28 for the gold models. Within a decade of inception, the company had created 19 calibers and 8 fine collections.
In 2006, the company introduced 6 new calibers, including the 10 lines mini-flying tourbillon, the self-winding mechanical movement with a platinum micro-rotor, the world’s first mechanical chronograph movement with a column wheel (self-winding by platinum micro-rotor), and the world’s first self-winding mechanical movement, which featured a triple time zone with global time and city display.
The Roger Dubuis Collections
There are eight Roger Dubuis watch collections that are currently featured. Each of these collections offers something unique to the consumer, while still maintaining the high standards of all Roger Dubuis watches. Collections include Excalibur, Saw, Too Much, Sympathie, Much More, Hommage, Golden Square, and Follow Me. The popular Hommage Collection was launched in 1996 as a throwback to the era of the 1930s. It is designed to be an innovative and stylish line that features bold numerals and a sleek case/strap combination. Also created in 1996 was the Sympathie Collection, a complicated and technologically advanced Roger Dubuis watch that is both sporty and practical. Because of its success, the Sympathie Collection was updated and re-launched in 2006. The Much More Collection first got its start in 1998 and became extremely successful. With its rectangular dial and it sleek style, watches in the Much More series cater to those seeking an elegant and stylish timepiece. The Golden Square Collection was launched in 2001 and features a bold square case that is curved around the edges for a bit of added style. Models in the Golden Square Collection are available in four different sizes.
